Project Description

Title: Cambridgeshire Guided Busway Arts Strategy
Date: 2007
Location: Cambridge, UK

In 2007 Tegala was commissioned by the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway to design a strategy for implementing a £100,000 public art programme along the 25km route.

The works should be borne from an understanding of the audiences and people using the busway and directly comment upon the local and regional histories of the place. The works should aspire to attract an involvement and interaction from these audiences. Public art is not one thing or a type of art but it is about a relationship between an artist, place and the people that occupy that place. Fundamental to that relationship is a process of collaboration and communication.
